What is labret piercing ?

Labret piercing had been common among the Gothic society, Native Americans and other tribal people.

Labret is derived from a Latin word and a labret piercing is a type of body piercing. Labret piercing falls in the dimple area just under the bottom lip. The initial piercing is usually made with a special stud jewelry that has a flat back. The flat part goes inside the mouth and can sometimes rub against the gums and teeth. A labret piercing is a type of piercing which is attached to the facial lip. Labret piercing is very popular and common as well among the men and the women.

During the ancient time, labret piercing was reserved for the upper class male only among the Aztecs and Mayans. Sometimes labret piercing is also known as "tongue pillar".

The healing period for a labret piercing depends on a person but can even take up to 3 - 6 months but the first two weeks of the healing process is very crucial.

A labret piercing jewelry can be a captive bead ring or a stud. We have an exclusive range of labret jewelry.
