What is Body Modification?

A body modification had been in practice for many years. The word " modification " already adds a meaning which is defined as a change or an alteration. Body modification is widespread and accepted globally.

In the act of body modification body piercing is advised as being part of the conventional forms of body modification.

Type of body modification -Body Piercing is one of the most common type of body modification. Body piercing is widespread as a type of body art. This style of body art had been in an ancient form. In the olden time, body piercing was practiced by all cultures and this act was first performed by the Romans.
Earlier body piercing was popular for ear piercing and nose piercing. Today, there are other types of piercing such as an eyebrow piercing, tongue piercing, dermal anchor piercing, conch piercing, rook piercing, navel piercing, lip piercing and etc.

Scarification was also considered as a body modification. Scarification means altering the skin permanently and is performed by the civilization. The procedure of the scarification is enacted by making little cuts and placing dyes in order to modify the color of the skin.
